International School Successfully Held a Book Sharing Session
In order to respond to the call of the national reading movement, arouse more students to join in reading, and create a civilized and harmonious cultural atmosphere, a book sharing session of the International School was organized on November 15th evening at Room 413 in the Qizhi Building.

Five students participated in this reading activity. The first candidate Chang Shiyi, majoring in Accounting of the International Class of Grade 2022, shared the book Moments We Shared. Chang told us the growth story of Liu Shisan, who is the protagonist lived in Yunbian Town. Combining the content of the book, she conveyed an optimistic attitude towards life.

The second candidate Lu Yunzhi, majoring in English of the International Class of Grade 2022, shared the book The Art of Loving. The book contains a philosophical thought: each person is an individual, and self-value doesn’t depend on anyone’s evaluation. In addition, he pointed out that the book contrasts love with physical passion, but ignores ethics as a higher dimension. Finally, he told that each person could get love experience through himself.

The third candidate He Meixuan, majoring in Accounting of the International Class of Grade 2022, shared the book Educated. She said that the most salient themes of the book were education, transformation and family origin, with the growth story of protagonist Tara whose parents taking her to the airport. In this regard, she believed that the problem between people and their family origin is complicated, and the relationship between children and parents is always interweaving and mutually influenced

The last candidate Li Meijing, majoring in Accounting of the International Class of Grade 2022, shared the book Moments We Shared. Li thought that the novel is impressive, the most exciting part of which is story from the fleshed-and-blood characters in Yunbian town. Protagonist’s commitment to family affection, love and friendship are the most touching part.

At the end of session, Yang Lijun, the counselor of the International School, made concluding comments. He noted that the reading sharing activity made us realize the importance of reading, and he encouraged students to study the professional knowledge in class and read more useful books to enrich themselves. At last, he referred that reading can guide us to think, become a cultured person and develop good learning habits!
