Mr. Zeng Xiangwen Shared His Entrepreneurial Experience and Career Guidance
The International School of Huashang College cordially welcomed Mr. Zeng Xiangwen, the founder of a well-known consulting service company. He lectured on career guidance for college students and shared his entrepreneurial experience. Held in Room 409 of Qizhi Building on December 14th, 2021; it was the 18th lecture of the Cultural Quality Lecture Series. The attendees included Dean Yu Huifen, staff and students of the International School, and faculty and students interested in the topic.
Mr. Zeng Xiangwen, the founder of a cross-border e-commerce consulting service company Shenzhen SDCL and the Vice president of Xiamen Lancha Group, held the role of entrepreneurship mentor of Hangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, a senior member of British Royal Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and a member of Chartered Global Management Accountant Association. With more than fifteen years of experience in enterprise financial management, financing and listing on the stock market, and enterprise operation and management, he has held the post of Senior Auditor of the accounting giant Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Chief Financial Officer of YKS Group.
In this lecture, Mr. Zeng used an engaging PPT and focused on four aspects: his career and entrepreneurial experience, talent recruitment and cultivation in Fortune 500 companies and start-ups, making preparations for a startup, and opportunities on job and startup in the cross-border e-commerce industry. Illustrating key points with the use of case studies and asking questions, he fully mobilized the audiences’ enthusiasm and created a lively atmosphere.

At the start, combining with his entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Zeng divided his career into three stages: professional knowledge accumulation, the transition to the role of manager and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that professional knowledge and management experience are requisite for entrepreneurship. In addition, he expounded on the differences on talent recruitment and the similarities in talent cultivation between large enterprises and startups.
Then, referring to starting a business from the perspective of an investor, Mr. Zeng expressed that investors would tend to provide fund and resources to promising or professional projects. He summarized characteristics of the entrepreneur preferred by investors: starting a business in their familiar fields, be inspirational and appealing to talents, be good at listening to others and reviewing, be tenacious and resilient, and reliable and self-disciplined, having family support. Besides, Mr. Zeng proposed four entrepreneurial suggestions for college students: accumulating professional knowledge and management experience, attracting investment capital, developing human resources and strengthening psychological quality.
Finally, Mr. Zeng shared opportunities on job and startup in the cross-border e-commerce industry, and explained the relatively low threshold of starting a business, simple operating form and the high rates of return in the cross-border e-commerce industry.
During the Q&A session, students enthusiastically asked questions, and Mr. Zeng answered patiently.

In closing, Dean Yu Huifen thanked Mr. Zeng Xiangwen for his coming and wonderful speech. She concluded that Mr. Zeng gave an insightful and informative lecture on startups, which would be instructive and beneficial for college students. Finally, she expected students to center on studying at college, accumulate professional knowledge and develop requisite skills for innovation and successful startups in the future.
